Introduction: Intense exercise leads to a decrease in immune system. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of short-term garlic extract supplementation on some cellular immune system factors after intense exercise in karate athletes.
Methods: Eighteen young men (with a mean age of 20.07±4.46, BMI 22.72±2.99 kg/m2) volunteered to participate in this semi-experimented. After completing consent forms, they were randomly placed in two homogeneous groups: experimental and placebo. Participants performed GXT after supplementation period. Blood samples were collected before, after supplementation and immediately after intense exercise test. Level of CD8 and CD4 factors assessed by flow cytometry-based separate kits and the proportion CD4 to CD8 was calculated. The research data were analyzed using a repeated measurement and Bonferroni for within-group evaluation and t test in depended was used to perform the between-group analysis.
Results significant increase in CD4, CD8 and the proportion CD4 to CD8 from pretest to midtest step for experimental group (p=0.03,p=0.023,p=0.047), but was not observed any significant difference for placebo group(p>0.05). Decrease in CD4, CD8 value and the proportion CD4 to CD8 for two groups in posttest, but placebo group experienced significantly more decrease compared to experimental group (p=0.00, p=0.04, p=0.005).
Conclusion: using garlic extract supplementation for a period of time promoted cellular immune system of karate athletes, so their immune system performance weakened less after intensive exercise.

Introduction: Based on useful effects of Dill in prevention and treatment of diseases, It has been used in traditional medicine in some Asian countries for hundreds of years. Therfore, the purpose of this study was to determine effects of long-term dill extract supplementation alone and along with regular aerobic training on some of inflammatory indices in serum of hyperlipidemic male's patients.
Methods: 60 of hyperlipidemic male's patients (in the age range between 20-50 years old and body mass index between 30-35 kg.m2) after completing consent forms in a quasi-experimental design were divided into 4 homogeneous groups which 15 subjects in each groups including; Placebo (P), Aerobic Training (AT), Dill extract (D) and aerobic training along with dill extract (AT+D). With the exercise protocol (3 sessions per week, 45 minutes running on a treadmill at a zero-degree gradient with an intensity of 60-70% of the heart rate reserve in each session), the Dillsan oral droplet (2 mg.kg-1 per day of dill extract) was administered for 8 weeks. Blood samples were taken and collected in two phases (48 hours before and after the last training session). Data were analyzed by repeated measure ANOVA, bonferroni and independent T test at α≤0.05.
Results: The results showed, that serum levels of CRP and MDA only in the combination group -AT+D- (2.68 mg.l and 2.61 nm.ml respectively) that a significantly reduced (P=0/03). However, decrease in CRP: 2.91 and 2.83 mg.l & MDA: 3.12 and 3.01 nm.ml respectively in the other experimental groups (AT and D) was not significantly meaningful (P>0/05).
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, we can concluded that the combination effects of regular aerobic training and dill extract supplementation, because of additional effects compared to treatment with dill extract supplementation and aerobic training alone, is more effective methods to decrease in inflammatory factors.

Introduction: People have turned to complementary and alternative medicine in recent years. Since the social factors are effective in this trend, the purpose of this article is to review these factors associated with the tendency of patients to complementary and alternative medicine.
Methods: This article was done by qualitative content analysis method with the inductive developmental style of the categories and using a semi-structured interview. Interviewed with 41 participants who referred to homeopathic clinics, massage therapists and herbal therapists in Tehran during the spring and autumn of 1396. Sampling was purposeful and data analysis and analysis were conducted simultaneously with sampling and interviews continued to theoretical saturation.
Results: The social components of the tendency to complementary medicine were classified into two groups of attractive and repulsive factors. Repulsive factors include "modern medical iatrogenic complications", "Hegemonic position of the doctor" and attractive factors include a "system approach to complementary medicine", Cultural-Social-Psychological Attitude” and "The Economic Advantage of Complementary Medicine"
Conclusion: In addition to biological care, the patient should also be aware of the social dimension of his life. The social component of the emphasis on complementary medicine is important for patients and can improve the treatment process

Introduction: Anxiety is considered as a serious problem before many of diagnostic procedures such as coronary angiography. In recent years, many researches have been done on non-pharmacological methods to control anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of foot reflexive massage on the anxiety of candidate patients for angiography.
Methods: This clinical trial study was done on 162 candidate patients for coronary angiography. Samples were selected through random sampling and after obtaining written consent allocated to intervention and control groups. Each patient in the intervention group received foot reflexive massage for 20 minutes and the patients in the control group received no similar intervention. The extent to which patients felt anxiety in the two groups before, immediately after, and half an hour after the intervention was measured. Data was collected using the clinical personal information record form and anxiety part of the hospital anxiety and depression scale, and performing physiological parameters sheet. Data was analyzed by Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, Paired and independent t-test.
Result: There was not a significant difference in anxiety scores between the two groups before the intervention. The mean score of anxiety was significantly different in two groups, immediately (Intervention group = 9/2±2/79, control =10/27±2/98), and 30 minutes after the intervention (Intervention group =8/67±26, control =10/27±2/99)(P=0/001).
Conclusion: Using this method as a safe, effective, applicable and affordable nursing interventions is recommended to reduce the level of anxiety before angiography.

Introduction: Osteoarthritis is one of the most important causes of disability among the elderly, causing pain, knee stiffness, decreasing the quality of life of the elderly, and increasing their dependence. One of the non-causative nursing interventions eliminates the symptoms of pain and thus promotes comfort and health. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of broccoli on the reduction of joints pain in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis in Zabol elderly homes in 1396.
Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 40 elderly people with knee osteoarthritis (two groups of 20 controls and broccoli controls for 4 weeks) at the age of 96 years old in Zabol city. A standardized questionnaire was used to assess the data and then the data were analyzed using paired t-test and Chi-squash test in 18spss software.
The sampling method was simple random sampling, so elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis were placed in one of the control and control groups by referring to the elderly home in Zabol. The data collection tools were: 1-Demographic questionnaire 2-questionnaire. Broccoli was packed in 10gr packs as a powder and placed in the elderly with a daily meal (preferably lunch) for 4 weeks.
Result: The two groups did not differ significantly in pain intensity before intervention. Comparison after intervention showed a significant difference in mean of performance (p<0.005), mean score of control group before intervention (367.1) and control group before intervention (269.7) and control group after intervention (405.3) and control group after intervention (681.1). Comparison of pre and post intervention in broiler chickens group showed a significant difference in knee pain severity.
Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness of the intervention, the use of broccoli on the severity of knee pain in elderly patients with osteoarthritis based on the results of this study, is suggested as a low cost, safe and easy intervention in the elderly with knee osteoarthritis.
