  Introduction : Test anxiety is a common problem among school and university students.Music sound as well as stress management strategies can be effective on students success and academic achievement . The aim of this study was to compare between the effects of Quran and music sounds on decreasing test anxiety among premedical students.

  Methods: In a quasi – experimental study on two groups with pretest – post test design, 60 semester premedical students were selected through census method and randomly divided into two groups of Quranic and music. The Quranic group listened to Ayatolkorsi surah by Menshavi and the music group to quiet music of secret garden by Rolf Lovland about 15 minutes with a speaker. Then, the two groups completed Spilburger questionnaire. The result was analyzed by SPSS through paired T test and independent T tests .

  Results: The mean of test anxiety in post test in the Quranic group and the music group was respectively(35/27± 3/41) and( 43/67±6/50). This differences statistically were significant (P<0/05). The comparison between the two groups shows that mean test anxiety in Quranic group significant decreased and the differences was staticallity significant( , p<0.05).

  Conclusion: Listening to the both Quranic sound and music sound before test is effective to decrease test anxiety among students, but the results show that Quran sound is more effective.
